Circus life Under the Big Top world We all need the clowns To make us smile
Through space and time Always another show Wondering where I am Lost without you...
Two strangers learn to fall in love.
A piece hugely inspired by Journey, also a slightly late Christmas gift for Mekk.
Rena was an acrobat... a performer in a circus. She dazzled her audiences with her charm and beauty and graceful displays of human power. She found that moving swiftly could drown out the sounds of voices in her head. A potent psychic at birth, Rena ignored her family's insistence that her "gift" was a calling for her to be a hero. All she wanted was to live her own life, pave her own path onward into a destiny she could control...
The Carnival of Shadows wanted her. After they attacked, she fled to the security of Arachnos, who wished to train her. The girl who was Rena Sterling would be lost to the tide of fate forever.
Enter Araneus. A harsh man with a harsh past, Araneus grew up in the Gutter, a poor section of Grandville constantly terrorized by Arachnoids. Ruthless and determined, Araneus threw his own parents in front of the Arachnoids in an act of self-preservation. Arachnos recruited him for his "talent", and shortly after being sworn in, he met Fantasmagoria.
Sensing her capabilities as a mentalist as well as a fighter, he sought to use her to put himself on the Destined Ones list. He would have left her for dead, for all he cared, but she ended up following him. They were at odds against each other, but neither could deny the benefit of sticking together. The quirky, beautiful psychic quickly found a way into his heart, and he into hers.
So there you go, the longer version of their story. You'll get to read more in the book I'm currently writing... the sequel to The Transcendent!
The drawing is kickass too, the design for Araneus' Suit and those extra limbs just makes it feel like its a mixture from halo/starcraft/Tabula Rasa (In my honest opinion)
Loving the color scheme for his armor also, very cool

Thanks! Mekk/Durendal's pretty awesome at making costumes. They were fun to draw, and surprisingly easy to color. It was inking that drove me to homocide.
Don't look in the basement...

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
