Okay so my friend's mom came out of nowhere and threw me out, so I'm staying with two good friends up in Pittsburgh. I was headed in that direction anyway, so...

No luck on the job hunt so far, still pretty much just applying everywhere I can. I'm disregarding location at this point - if the commute is under an hour, it's tolerable.

I'm here for a while now. Friends are moving out but I'm staying in their house until my apartment is ready. Most of my art and stuff is back in Virginia for now but I did bring one sketchbook. I won't have internet after around the 14th so I'll have a good 2-3 weeks of no distractions other than possibly job-related stuff.

This journal has nothing to do with art, so if you're one of those "Don't want to hear about your personal life" types, then this isn't the entry to read.

With that said, here's what's going on:

I'm currently staying at a friend's house. Her and her parents are awesome for taking me in on such short notice.

I am moving near Pittsburg the first week of July. I have not decided if I am excited yet, though I DO love the area. I have a job interview next week with the B&N up there so I'm hoping I get the transfer. It'll be income until I find something full-time.

Thanks to another awesome friend, I am looking into an apartment that should be quite nice once they finish remodeling it. They are giving me a really good deal on it and I am reasonably pleased.

I'm just trying to keep my chin up and avoid thinking about what's going on. When I think about it I feel hopeless...not fun.

I've been able to get online regularly if you want to send me a note/e-mail.

Did you ask me to draw something for you? I have very important news!

I got thrown out of the house yesterday. Packed up and threw what I could into my car. I took GREAT CARE to preserve the sketches that I have done, but now we have a problem. I can still draw when I find time between house hunting and trying to find a place to sleep for the night, and my laptop can steal everyone's wireless, but this means I cannot do any digital coloring at this time!

Sorry for the lack of activity lately. A good friend came over for a few days, and then the day he left to go back home, we had a wave of thunderstorms and tornados and lost power for 24 hours. It only just came back on. God, I love air conditioning.

I actually got stuck in a parking garage during a tornado that touched down at my campus yesterday. I was scared to death so I texted immediately and then felt better. Meg was there to comfort me as well. Seriously, without those two I would have freaked out and jumped into the lake or something. (Not really.)

A few coworkers also saw a funnel cloud form over my house and it tore down a few trees and a power line, hence the power outage.

Ah well, it's been a fun week, and I'm in an excellent writing mood, hopefully to be followed by an even better drawing one.

I think I may need to re-open commissions, I need $1000 by August 1.

With only ten minutes left of the day, I'm forced to sit here and think about Joe. I'm flooded with questions... Why? Mostly why. I know all the other answers...when...how...where...but I still don't understand why he had to die so early in his life.

It's been a year now. Hardly feels like it's been that long. Just yesterday he was showing me my first chords on the guitar. Just yesterday he was at the Chili Cook Off. Heck, I don't even remember if his band won but I remember that they were brilliant.

It's still hard to believe, even a year later, that his life could end so quickly. There was no warning, no chance to say goodbye, no time to tell him how much he had affected my life in the three years I knew him. Even if there were a warning, there would never be enough time.

I love you, Joe.
